Story Notes:

This is a play off of a story I did called Primal Scream. You see Gypsy is an OC that stars in an upcoming fantasy novel that I'm currently writing. But in between times, namely when I have writers block, I like to throw her into Inuyasha fan fiction so she can play with all the nice Bishounen haha! Anyways, some of the scens in this may appear in the novel-- minus Kouga and company-- and so yeah. This is a special treat for all my new readers here as this will not be placed on AFF.

Before we begin I should clarify things, like Gypsy is from the Eastern wolf tribe and she goes to earth as a demonic bounty hunter through a mystical waterdall. Hey-- its better than a lame well. All that said... I'm saying this once and it goes for the whole project: Disclaimer: All publicly recognizable characters, settings, etc. are the property of their respective owners. Author's Chapter Notes:
It's Gypsy's full moon night, and she's on her way home to Earth to alleviate the strain of being around so many males while in heat. But Kouga decides it's time to try his luck with the beautiful ookami warrior bitch from the Eastern wolf tribe.
Gypsy stood alone by the waters edge, the light summer breeze played in her silky hair. With a sigh she took a seat on flat rock, the depression that washed over her chased away the heat of battle that had been burning in her veins just moments ago when she'd slaughtered that dragon demon that had attacked her village. Sure the wolf clan worshipped her, she was their alpha and a valiant warrior.

Yet she was alone.

Inuyasha had been toying with her for months, though she didn't know why she allowed his shy and often clumsy attempts at affection. Sesshoumaru had held her attention for about ten minutes, she wasn't into the 'Ice Prince' facade even if he did reek of a powerful alpha-to-be. Inutaisho, the gentle yet strict father of her previous suitors, Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, had driven her mad with his scent. The mere mention of the man's name sent her blood pounding in her ears. But, alas, the Demon Lord who'd been revived by the Shikon no Tama would not approach her in that way and tactfully retreated to further lands on nights of the full moon when Gypsy's heat was strong. He had too much honor to take a female who was younger than his youngest son to his bed.

Gypsy snarled in frustration, her eyes moved heavenward. It was coming tonight. In a few short hours the full moon would rise and Gypsy would banish herself to Earth to escape the males of her tribe. Volo especially. Volo was the son of the former alpha male, and he'd ascended the throne after his fathers death. With silvery gray hair and cutting gold eyes, he made quite the handsome figure-- but Gypsy hated him. Underneath it he was an evil and conniving bastard who she vowed silently to see dead. The only other male she could stomach long enough to have conversation with was Kanyon, Volo's brother. His hair was of softer silver than his brohter, his eyes were aqua for some weird reason-- and he was so soft and gentle it made her want to puke. His intentions with her were strictly that of brother and sister, even though it was highly rumored that in her twentieth year she was to mate one or the other of the former leaders sons.

Gypsy tossed her hair, her eyes falling on the Western Lands. Sesshoumaru would take her, use her carnally and forget her the next morning. Inuyasha, were she able to find him at all for his roaming, would probably come up with twenty reasons why he couldn't and shouldn't-- then he'd end up doing it and afterwards become far too protective of her. She didn't want to be smothered. Oh, the scandal it would bring if she mated with an inu-youkai, and a hanyou at that! It was pointless, she mused, the act of mating held more meaning to her than a mere moment of pleasure. She didn't expect to be in love with the first lover she took, but she did know he'd have to be special; someone who could respect her for being a bit different from everyone else, someone to motivate and inspire her-- but not nag her to death. Most of all she needed someone who understood that underneath the veneer of the tough and deadly ookami warrior that was Gypsy, lie the soft and passionate heart of a loyal female who longed to belong to a male who was worthy of it and could support the emotional side of her that bubbled like a hot cauldron, and was always threatning to spill over.

She sighed and started for the portal buried in the waterfall that would lead her back to the earthly realm. Going back to the modern realm was her only hope of escaping the situation. In her home there, the temptation was not as great and she had ice cream to comfort her. Gypsy stopped, her ears catching the sound of breaking twigs and a rattle of leaves.

"Whose there?" She turned around quickly, ready to defend herself if she needed to. Instead though, she came eye to eye with another ookami.

"Just me, Gypsy!" Kouga smiled warmly, his inky black hair swaying carelessly in the breeze that he'd strirred up. "Hey where ya going?"

"Home." She motioned towards the sky. Since she was currently in the feudal era/underworld, depends on who you ask-- the general concensus was that the modern earthly realm was up.

"Aww, that's no fun. I was hoping to go hunting with you tonight." He winked.

"Um, yeah. The full moon is tonight and I'm safer among humans--"

Kouga's nose worked, she was right. The late afternoon air was beginning to carry her spicy essence as she slipped into heat. He knew the full effect would not strike until after twilight gave way to the velvetty darkness, then even he might not be able to hold back.

Grinning slightly, Gypsy caught his actions but decided not to embarrass him. "Yeah. Well I'll just be going."

"Can I walk with you?" He started to follow her, not waiting for a reply.

Gypsy was used to Kouga's antics. Truth was she liked the big male who lead the Northern Wolfpack, but she held out no hope for a union-- since the Northern wolves were often at war witht he Eastern Pack, where Gypsy called home. Usually it was ronin males caught trifling with the easier females from the other tribes that started the fights.

The silence that was between them as they walked wasn't uncomfortable. Though they spent very little time together, the two of them seemed to connect as if by unseen force. Gypsy had never dwelled on this, she was just glad to have someone to occasionally chat with who didn't see her was warrior, care giver, or an object to lust after and pursue for mere staus symbol.

At the waterfall, she turned to Kouga. "Well, I guess I'll be going. I should be back by next week."

He stared at her through blue crystal eyes, the sun was setting in the west, her musk was stronger. "Take me with you. You know I love going to Earth."

She sighed and placed a hand over her forehead, "We already been over this, Kouga. You just can't-- not this time."

"Why? Scared you might not resist me?" He taunted playfully. "C'mon, take a risk. You know my senses are dulled out of this realm and so it might not affect me at all."

She nodded a little, not really feeling like being alone tonight anyways. "Fine, but hands off!"

He nodded in agreement and followed her through the sparkling waterfall to the portal that would open in Gypsy's huge walk in closet. When he opened his eyes again, recovering from the swirling vortex of light that carried them from one era to the next.

Kouga rubbed his stomach and growled, "Damn it-- I can't get used to this!"

"Yeah, it takes a while for it," she said. "I lost my lunch the first time and Inuyasha prefers the well.

She walked into a decidely large kitchen, looking into the refridgerator for soda's. Finding one she handed it to Kouga, "You remember these? Kagome had some once--"

"Oh yeah, this is the stuff that made Inuyasha burp?" He chuckled as his claws punctured the opening on the top of the can with his claws and drank deeply. Gypsy giggled when he tried to hide a belch.

"So, how's Ayame?" Gypsy was more teasing, knowing that Kouga and Ayame weren't even on speaking terms after the whole hot spring incident where Ayame had set up kouga to be found with her naked in the water by her father.

Kouga flashed her a snarl and drank again before replying. "I hope the bitch is gone for good. She almost forced us to get married! What the hell is with her? Can't she take no for an answer?"

"Good males are hard to find." Gypsy whispered to herself, but Kouga had heard her.

"So you're telling me none of the good stock in the Eastern wolfpack interests you?" He looked amused, pulling himself up to sit ont he kitchen island as he watched Gypsy remove a whole chicken and steak from the fridge.

"Apparently, they expect me to marry Volo. I hate him. I cannot be forced into love, or any union for that matter, that I don't want to be in. He's an evil bastard." She grumbled. "Inuyasha is pretty sweet-- but he's so- just no."

Kouga rolled his eyes deeply, "Okay lets agree not to talk about Inuyasha, okay? Damn fool has no idea what to do with a real woman who isn't a sniveling schoolgirl."

"Kikyou was not a schoolgirl," Gypsy said in defense of the undead miko who she'd grown quite fond of since Kikyou had shown her how to control her own healing miko powers.

"My point exactly!" Kouga held up his forefinger dramactically. "And is he with her?"

She shook her head with a giggle and tossed the raw chicken and steak into the oven to warm up. "You like yours raw don't you?"

Kouga growled in appreciation, "Yeah but not frozen."

"In that case, dinner will be served in about five minutes!" She dug through a cabinet to find a bottle of wine and some glasses. Okay, raw steak and chicken with red wine might not sound romantic to human ears, but Kouga and Gypsy were after all ookami.

Chapter End Notes:

Okay folks, I need feedback-- wanna see where this is going? Well lets hear it! And be honest, I can take it.

Next Chapter:

Kouga and Gypsy have some wine and dinner... what exactly does wine do to an ookmai whose never drank it before?
