Chapter 2: Letters
‘Kagome,

This distance grows harder to bear with each passing day. It has been three and a half months since I last saw you and my heart grows lonely in your absence. I have been working in my role as the western Lord and have increased my fortunes but without you by my side these things are for not. I have decided to extend an invitation to you and our friends to come here for a visit. I think it would be good for you to see where I live. It's quit different from you abode but I think you will like it. There is a magnificent garden that surrounds a small lake just south of my estate. It's iced over now but in the summer it is one of the most beautiful places in the western lands. For now I will say fare well, my Koishii (A.N. Dear or Beloved) and await your response.

                                        All my love,                                                                                                           Sesshomaru

P.S. I love you...'

Kagome sighed. "Oh," she held the short, sweet letter to her chest. "He is so romantic." She paused and tried to suppress her tears, but she failed. Tears streamed freely down her face. Her body shook as she sobbed. Since their first night together so many moons ago, Kagome had felt attached to the Inu Youkai. He spent two weeks in her town and every day they would be together for hours and several nights they stayed together. Since he'd left they kept in contact with letters. Kagome was afraid that their relationship would diminish but it had only grown stronger. Sesshomaru came and visited as often as he could but certain events in the Western lands demanded his attention and denied him the opportunity to see his Koishii very often.

Outside of Kagome's house Sango herd what sounded like sobbing. "oh, Kagome." She said sympathetically as she walked into the young Miko's home. She reached out and put a reassuring hand on her back. "What's wrong?" She asked but quickly answered her own question when she saw the piece of paper clutched in her friend's hand.

"I...miss...him..." She managed to make out between sobs.

It had only been six months since she had met the western Lord but she was head over heels in love with him after only her first week of knowing him. She knew what she wanted. And she wanted him. Sesshomaru. She wanted to be in his strong arms once again. To be held against his chisled chest. She missed his sent. She missed his liqued gold eyes. She missed the way he'd held her as she slept and the way he whispered her name. She tried to compose her self and sat up right. "I'm sorry, Sango." She sniffled and wiped away her last remaining tear. "The longer I go without him the harder it is when I get a letter or see something that reminds me of him."

"I understand." Sango smiled as she helped Kagome to her feet. "I'm the same way when Miroku leaves for just a week! It's unbearable. But I imagine it's worse for you. What's it been? Three months?"

"Three and a half actually." Then Kagome remembered what her Lord had written. "Oh, He's invited us all to go stay at his home for a visit!" She smiled and turned to Sango, almost jumping out of her skin from excitement. "I'm going." she said as she crossed the small room and grabbed a bag that she started shoving cloths in.  She grabbed some Kimonos, jeans, t-shirts and under garments and stuffed them in.

Sango Laughed at the dramatically changed Kagome. "I'll talk to Miroku. I'm sure he'd love to though. Sesshomaru and him have known each other for years. Sure they have their spats but for the most part they get along." Sango went to her friend. "Calm down. You're going to hurt your self." she said as Kagome ran around her small house getting things ready. "Honestly I think you should send a letter to Sesshomaru to let him know. Then we can all leave first thing Monday."

Five days from now? Kagome didn't know if she could wait that long to be on her way to her love.

"Maybe you should go ask Inuyasha and Kikyo if they want to come."   "Yea. I think I will."

"Great!" Sango said as she started to head toward the door of Kagome's home. "Hey, why don't all of you come over tonight after dinner. We can discuss things then."

Kagome dropped her now full bag to the ground. It landed with a heavy thud. "Yea. That'd be great!"

"Alright!" said Sango as she exited then called back toward Kagome, "See you tonight!" With that she was gone.

Ohhhhhh...I can't wait! I'm coming soon my love. Kagome decided that she could wait five more days. She'd waited this long to see him. "Well, Sango said I should write him a letter but I guess I should see if Kikyo and Inuyasha want to go." And with that she ran out of her home and down to Inuyasha's house.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>
"Hell no!" Inuyasha yelled when Kagome told him of Sesshomaru's invitation. "I wouldn't go to that bastard's home if he came here and asked me personally!"

"But," was all Kagome could get out.

   "NO!"

"Inuyasha?" Kikyo came behind her infuriated husband. "I'm sure it'd be fun." she said as she slipped her arms around him. "And doesn't Sesshomaru have that private hot spring?" she said in a seductive tone.

Inuyasha's eye grew bigger as he thought. "No. We‘re not going." He said finally.

Kikyo lowered her voice to a whisper so Kagome couldn't hear. "I'm sure we could make use of it...somehow."

"Alright!" Inuyasha half yelled. "We'll go. But I'm not happy about it!"

"Okay! You don't have to be happy so long as you come." Kagome smiled. Inuyasha was like a little brother to her even though he was about two hundred and thirty years older than her.

  <><><><><><><><><><><><>

After they all met at Sango and Miroku's house and delt with the details they decided to leave in five days, Kagome went home.

Five days... Humph. She made a disappointed face and continued walking toward her hut. I don't know how I'm going to wait that long. Kagome looked up at the sky. A lone shooting star flew across and she thought back to that first night she had spent with Sesshomaru. She smiled. "I'll be with you soon." She remembered how warm that night was and for a moment forgot that the actual temperature of the outside air was quite low. So low in fact that she could see her breath and the fine layer of ice that coated the ground. She snapped back to reality and realized she was freezing! She ran into her house and got a fire going in the fire pit. After she had done that she unrolled her futon beside it and grabbed her backpack that had her stationary in it. She pulled out a green piece of paper and a black pen and started writing her letter to Sesshomaru.

   ‘Dear Sesshomaru,

I was so happy to get your letter! I miss you more that words could possible say! I am so excited! I'm writing to tell you that Inuyasha, Kikyo, Miroku, Sango and I are coming to visit you! Inuyasha didn't want to but Kikyo said something to him and convinced him to come. Miroku and Sango are happy they will see you again but I think that I'm the most excited! I can't wait to see you. I miss you being here. Well not really here. I don't care where we are as long as we're together. I just really miss you! We are going to leave here in five days so we should be at your estate four or five days after this letter gets to you.

I saw a shooting star tonight and it reminded me of our first night together. Sango and Miroku set us up on that blind date. I never would have dreamed that it would turn out to be so perfect. That you would turn out to be so perfect. I love you so much and miss you. I think I said that I miss you quite a few times. Ha ha. Must be true. Well, I will go now and I'll count the hours until we can be together again. I love you...With all my heart.

                                                                     Your's Always,

                                                                                Kagome'

Kagome folded the letter and slipped it into an envelope. In the morning she'd give it to the mail carrier and it would be on it's way to her Lord. Kagome laid on her futon and pulled her heavy blankets on top. She curled up and listened to the crackling of the fire as she drifted into a dream filled sleep.

"Help!" Kagome yelled trying to stay afloat. "Help!" She was caught in the rapid currents. The violent water thrashed her around and threw her into rocks until finally she couldn't fight anymore. She let go of all hope and stopped moving. She was beneath the surface of the water being drug by the violent currents along the rocky bottom. Is this how it's going to end? She thought as she closed her eyes and exhaled her last breath. Suddenly she felt strong arms around her.

What? Who is this? She felt her head break the surface and someone saying "It's okay! You're going to be alright!". She felt herself being pulled through the currents then felt her feet drag on the rocky bottom. What? Am I on shore? She felt herself being lain onto soft grass and herd a voice saying, "You're alright. You're safe." over and over. Kagome opened her eyes and tried to get a glimps of her rescuer but her vision blurrd. The only thing she could tell is that he was tall and had what looked like white hair. Kagome felt herself smile then her vision blacked out.

Kagome shot up in bed. "A dream?" she said and saw the morning light outside her window. She was a bit startled by the dream. She hated and loved dreaming it. She hated it because it reminded her why she was scared of the water but she loved it because of her mysterious rescuer. She had always dreamed of meeting him but she didn't have much to go on. A guy with white hair. There were thousands of old guys in Japan who had white hair and she expected to be able to find him? No. No, she didn't. Not any more. Thoughts of her dear Sesshomaru came to her mind and she thought of how he made her feel and how safe she felt with him and then reality struck her. "We're going to start traveling today!!!!!!" She jumped up, dressed in a pair of blue jeans and a fitted purple t-shirt. She threw on a hoodie and a thick coat over that, grabbed her bags and went as fast as she could to Miroku and Sango's house.

Upon reaching the house she saw Inuyasha and Kikyo were just getting there as well.

"Good Morning." Kikyo smiled at her.

Kagome let out a relieved sigh as she sat her bags down. "Morning!"

Sango and Miroku then came out of the house. "Hey," Miroku said as he sat his and his wife's bags down. "I've arranged for us some horses. They're just around to the side of the house." The four married people continued to talk. Saying their hellos and how are you's.

Kagome couldn't stand it any more. After five minutes of waiting, which seemed like an eternity, she spoke up. "Well let's load up and leave already!" Kagome said as the others stopped talking abruptly.

"Yeah. I agree." Inuyasha said as he picked up his and his wife's bags. "The sooner we leave the sooner we can come back for Lord Dog Demon's house."

Normally Kagome would have gotten mad at him but right now she didn't care she just wanted to see Sesshomaru and if Inuyasha's insults would get them there faster then she wouldn't complain. They packed their bags onto the horses and started to ride. Kagome could hardly wait.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

"It seems like we've been ridding for months!" Kagome complain. She was beginning to get impatient and wanted to be at her destination now. She jumped off her horse and started walking. Her saddle soars hurt like hell. She hated being in that awful saddle and her horse, who she named Uindoko (A.N. Child of Wind) because she was a fast horse, didn't seem to like it either. Just as she was about to give up on ever making it to Sesshomaru's that day she saw a building in the distance. "Hey, is that...?" she put a hand over her eyes to sheild out the sun and squinted.

"Yep." Inuyasha said. "That's the Western Palace."

"Thank Goodness!" Kikyo exclaimed. "We're almost there."

"Are you serious!" Kagome exclaimed as she put her hand down and started walking faster.

   "Yep." Inuyasha said again.

They traveled on for another hour and now the palace was so close Kagome could have run to it. They walked on another ten minutes and Kagome saw someone standing in the gateway to Palace. Kagome thought she knew who it was but after walking just a few more minutes she was positive of the man's identity. Sesshomaru.

"Sango!" Kagome squealed and haded her horses reins to her friend.

"Go get him." Sango urged and Kagome smiled and took off running toward her man. She ran as fast as she possibly could. She wanted to get to him and now! She wanted to feel his embrace and smell his sweet masculine sent again.
Kagome. The Inu Youkai thought as he saw the mortal he had his eyes on began to run. He couldn't hold back any longer. He yerned for her. Wanted her back in his arms. Wanted her to feel safe again. Wanted to keep her and take care of her. "Kagome," He whispered and took off running as well.

It wasn't in his nature to run like this for no reason. The only time he ran was when he was chasing his enemies down. But right now he didn't care. He wanted to be with her again. He ran with his all demon speed and crossed the plain between them in no time. He stopped just short of her and, arms spread wide, let her slam into his body. He wraped his arms around her quickly and spun around with her in a circle to take the momentum of her "attack" away. Kagome laughed as Sesshomaru spun a few more times and when he stopped she started to cry. "I missed you..." she whispered into his chest. Sesshomaru's arms around her felt every bit as good as they did before they parted the last time.

Sesshomaru pulled Kagome away from his body and she looked a little disappointed. He looked into her eyes and then the next thing Kagome knew Sesshomaru had his lips pressed gently against her own. He put one hand on her face and the other on the small of her back, pulling her closer. He then did something that Kagome didn't expect. He started to move his lips with her and opened them slightly pulling at her bottom lip then he snaked his tongue out of his mouth and ran it across Kagome's bottom lip.

She could hardly believe it! Here they were just seeing each other after three and a half of the longest months in Kagome's life and she was getting one thing that she'd wanted him to do the first night they met. She felt his hot, wet tongue run over her lip, begging for entrance into her watering mouth. She wanted to taste him but after he made her wait all this time she wasn't giving in that easy. He wouldn't give her anything but little pecks until now and he expected her to just open up?   She herd him whimper and whine a little and after a little more complaining and teasing, Sesshomaru won.

Kagome opened her mouth up to him and he dove his little member into it. Their tongues danced, playing with each other. Kagome tangled her hands in his long silver hair as Sesshomaru deepened the kiss further.

Oh, God! Kagome thought as she inhaled his sent. His tongue explored her entire mouth and she enjoyed every minute of it. He found that he loved how she tasted. His sensitive demon senses allowed him to experience things differently than normal people and kissing was one of them. Kagome moaned slightly into his mouth as their dance continued.

"Are you guys ever going to come up for air?" They herd Inuyasha say. They both parted and released their hold on one another. Sesshomaru slid his hand to hers and gave a gentle squeeze.

Kagome blushed bright red and hid her face in his chest but Sesshomaru addressed the interrupting party as if this had been part of the plan. "Welcome to all of you. Come lets get into the warmth." He said as he turned his back to his visitors. He crouched down and gestured for Kagome to climb onto his back. "Come on. I don't bite," he said the gave a sly grin "Often."

Kagome smiled and climbed onto his back.

Sesshomaru looked back at the party who were on the horses gave a quick "Follow me." and took off towards the palace with his Koishii on his back. As he ran he felt Kagome's grip on him tighten. He sensed that she wassn't frightened but excited.

Inuyasha and the others urged their horses after the Inu Youkai. The poor beasts were barely able to keep up to the Demon Lord.

Kagome smiled as she held onto Sesshomaru. She was with him at last...and no one could part them.
