Kagome and Inuyasha were both asleep late at night in one of the many forests of Japan. Suddenly a scent hit Inuyasha’s nose waking him up instantly.

‘Blood,’ he thought. Then his eyes snapped open in a panic. ‘Kagome’s blood!’

Worried, though he didn’t know why he should be, the girl was a pain in the ass, he jumped down off his tree branch and looked around. He expected to see her injured or under attack. However, she was sleeping peacefully in her sleeping bag.

The scent was getting stronger. He walked over to her and crouched down. He climbed on top of her and hovered over her as he began to sniff every inch of her body.

He worked down her body until he reached the spot between her legs. Kagome was bleeding from THERE? Why? Was something wrong with her? Was she dying or did she simply hurt herself?

Inuyasha nodded. "That’s right. You’re bleeding. I’m trying to stop the flow of blood."

Kagome tried to sit up. Inuyasha grabbed her shoulder with his free hand and pinned her down. "Bitch, I said not to move! What if you’re dying?! I need you to find the shards!"

"That’s all you need me for!"

"You’re point?!’

She would have sat him to hell right then and there but he would have fallen on top of her. Instead she tried to reason with him.

"Inuyasha, do you know what a period is?"

"You mean those dots used at the end of a sentence?"

"No. I mean a menstrual cycle."

Looking more confused he shook his head.

Kagome went into a lengthy explanation of periods and why she was bleeding. She supposed coming from this time period, being a man, and growing up in isolation Inuyasha had never been told about this before.

When she was done Inuyasha was beet red. He pulled his hand away from her bloodied panties.

Not knowing what to say he took off into the forest to get cleaned up. Kagome sighed and pulled out her supplies. She had a feeling things were going to be awkward for the next few days.
