"now kanade, we have better ways to deal with a problem like that."

inuyasha smirked and said "don't worry im not stupid, i was going to ask for a tub of vanila."kanade found what she was looking for and started to dial a number on her blackberry storm cellphone."do you want brownies?"

when she finished the song inuyasha finally figured out what they were missing. a stage.

yes they would have a singing contest even though they don't have work today, they would sing with no orders and no critical critisation.

"hey seshoumaru, can you help me move a wooden plank for me?"

seshoumaru nodded and went in the garage to find the plank while inuyasha tried to find black paint.

he placed them outside and found a black glitter curtain and hung it around the mini stage by branches holding it up.

sango and kanade were cutting the fruits while kagura placed it on the cakes. inuyasha and kenta were frying the fish the succulent and juicy smell of it frying hit thier noses and seshoumaru and miroku started making a hot pot.

ayame arrived and kouga followed behind her.

kouga instantly helped by placing the ice cream in the freezer. while ayame helped with decorations in the backyard. she placed drapes over the folding tables and polished the chairs till she could see her reflection in them.

she needed to put up a banner but couldn't reach "kouga i need your help!" she asked.

he came outside and she instantly jumped on hs shoulders and then hammered the banner in place. she jumped off and said "thanks." kouga nodded and went inside.

they all wanted to make this a special birthday.

they knew she would wake up soon so when kagura and sango finshed with the fruits, they ran up to kagome's room and said "wake up already!"

she woke up and said "oh hi guys! what are you doing here?"

"there's a sale at the mall the 1 in a lifetime 50% and up off sale!"

well atleast that was true.

"getready sleepy pants!"

they praticly shoved kagome into the bathroom and shut the door.

meanwhile in akiko's room, "thanks for helping with my card rin." said akiko.

"can i make one also?"

akiko handed rin an orange piece of constriction paper and thanked her.

when kagome finished her shower, she changed and they left without letting kagome say hi or good evening to anyone but they waved at her so atleast it was something. everyone looked busy....somethings up she knew it hit her gut.

"daddy, can me,rin and junichi go to the feudal era?" asked akiko.

"what for?" he asked abit suspicous.

"we're gonna pick wild flowers and probably some ayames (iris flower)"

when ayame heard, she said "don't worry i'll take them."

inuyasha nodded his approval and they left.

when inuyasha finished his fish he was frying, he went to the cup board and took out about 3 to 4 vases.he washed them thouraly and placed them on each table exactly 4.he poured water in them and looked around in the rose garden. he found some roses and placed eachone in the vase.

inuyasha went back inside to see everyone done. he left the backyard and frontyard door open so the smell of fish didn't reek the house.

they all washed the dishes and cleaned the kitchen.

then settled down in the living room he already knew what he was going to give her.he looked down at the beads he wore around his neck. he already perfected it and he was able to remove it anytime he wanted to.he used his adament barrage attack and placed little diamonds on the beads so that it would look fitting on her.

inuyasha got up from the living room and went upstairs. he placed the beads in a box and wrapped it.

downstairs kouga said "its sorta wierd to have a day off you guys wanna sing for kagome's birthday?"

they all looked at eachother and shrugged a yes.

"fine but we sing movin by takacha." inuyasha said as he came walking down the steps.

they nodded in agreement as they heard akiko,rin, and ayame return. junichi was asleep upstairs.

"your singing for mommy?" asked akiko. inuyasha nodded and helped akiko place the flowers in the vases.

the wild lilies were beautiful and so were the ayames.

"ok. ok. ill tell them. thanks.bye." ayame got off her Blackberry cellphone and said" they're on thier way."

they all got in position and waited.as soon as kagome entered the house, the guys will start. they heard the lock jiggle and the door was open. kagome stepped into the house and they started.

Kagome followed the voice into the backyard and saw that the men were singing kenta went to buy something.

they all yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAGOME!"

shippo and satsuki was with them and saw the men they were good at singing.

ayame rolled out a cart that carried 2 cakes 1 chocolate and 1 vanilla.

they were topped with fruit and atleast 44 sparkler candles on each cake meaning 22x2=44!

kagome felt her knees wobble and she cried in her hands. they were all confused with the sudden outburst but she reassured them by saying "im crying for happiness! i thought you forgot!"

"we would never forget mom." said kenta when he came back.

"here i bought you something" kenta handed her a box that was wrapped and she opened it. a beautiful pure golden locket and it had the picture of her family on one side with her picture on the other."thank you so much i love it!" she said as she clasped it around her neck.

"mommy! me and rin shared our present ready for it?" akiko asked. kagome nodded and the 2 girls ran on the stage and sang i am by hitomi. her ipod started and they followed the words

kagome opened the rest of her presents and thanked them all.

inuyasha gave his present and she said "are you sure?"

she knew it meant so much to him. it held memories of thier advnetures and she didn't want to take it away.

"im sure."he said helping her put them on.

they soon got to cake and just ate with performances like from kagura,ayame,and akiko.

inuyasha announced "its time for a sining contest best singer gets to be awarded with this!" inuyasha held up a gold trophy with a golden figure and a microphone ontop.

"let the contest begin!"

as soon as those words came out of his mouth, the door bursted open and in came kikyo and naraku.

"hello kagome happy birthday!" said kikyo sweetly with a hidden evil tone.

"um thank you?" kagome was startled with the sudden burst but got over it when kikyo handed her a present.

kagome ripped it open and saw that it was homemade pearl bracelet.kagome didn't want to be rude so she put it around her wrist.

"thank you."

ayame and akiko got on stage and started the contest with a song called Houki Boshi by Younha

kikyo spoke and akiko expected it to be like 'you're too scratchy' or something like that. kikyo was like simon on american idol but far more fiesty.

kikyo said "you're too scratchy and you need more feeling and emotions instead of mumbling."

kagome got on and sang come by namie amuro.

akiko new exactly why kikyo gave her mother a 6. she never forgave her for taking inuyasha away so to her they were sworn enemies.

"kagome does everyone in your family sing that bad?" kikyo asked harshly.everyone gasped and akiko piped up "YOU FUCKIN JEALOUS BITCH! QUIT TALKING TO MY FAMILY LIKE THAT!!!!"almost everyone nearly jumped out of thier skin because of akiko's violent tone. inuyasha was proud for his daughter when she spoke freely.

akiko sprang up in the air and launched herself at akiko, claws ready to swipe at her flesh but naraku stiil had demonic powers and sent his tentacles at her and rapped it around her holing akiko as a hostage.

"AKIKO!" everyone yelled.

naraku was tightning his grip and her making her wince in pain."akiko must be punished for trying to attack my mate.""she needs to be let go off thats what she needs you fucking baka!" yelled kenta as he sliced his tentacles with his claws but the tentacles grew back and grabbed both kenta and akiko.

 "BROTHER SISTER!" yelled kanade as she ran and sliced at the tentacles.

when will they learn? thought naraku as his tentacles grabbed kanade as well. they all winced in pain and eventually passed out.

"now they either apoligize or they suffer!" demanded naraku.

inuyasha just wanted to pull out his sword and kill naraku for good! but he couldn't not when he might injure his kids.kagome wanted to shoot the tentacles but was afraid if naraku would use her kids for a shield.everyone desperatly had to think so they all thought the same thing up.

"inuyasha you and kouga need to take the ice cream out of the fridge."said kagome.inuyasha nodded and kouga and he went in the kitchen.

"seshoumaru can you help me push the cart back?"asked ayame. he nodded and they pushed the cart away.

"kagome, lets throw away all of the rapping paper."said sango.they went over to pick up the rapping paper and went into the kitchen and mirouku followed behind them.

naraku and kikyo were utterly confuesed and puzzeled.they fell for it.

swiftly, inuyasha,kouga,seshoumaru and miroku caught kikyo hostage and ayame swiped at naraku while sango used her hirikotsu to slash away the tentacles and kagura ripped through his tentacles around the kids and kagome helped drag them away.

naraku was tied up and so was kikyo.the kids woke up soon and saw that kikyo and naraku were tied up.

as soon as akiko woke up and saw kikyo tied up she sprang to the sky but an arm grabbed her by the waist and pulled her down."LET ME GO!" yelled akiko. inuyasha held her down and said "you are not killing any one today or ever in this time."

akiko shadowed her eyes and cried as she pulled her father's shirt into fists.kagome and everyone placed a hand on akiko's back to comfort her."kikyo is only mean to mommy because she's jealous about...."akiko tried to fight back tears and finish her sentance but couldn't the tears somehow found a way to come out pouring like niagra falls.akiko managed to hold back the tears for awhile and finished saying "she's jealous because mommy has you!"inuyasha looked up at kikyou who was blushing a bright red then looked at kagome who was looking the other way.this was why he was afraid of the past. somehow the past always slithers its way to the present.kagome was about to walk away thinking he's going to go and sneak off to her like he used to.

but inuyasha grabbed her hand in time and said "im not going back."as he said those words, he pulled her down and embraced her.kagome returned the embrace and whispered "thank you."

the party was over and they forced kikyo and naraku out of kagome's house.everyone pitched in to help cleanup.

inuyasha and kouga refolded the tables and chairs while miroku and seshoumaru placed them back in the garage.

kagura and sango washed and dried the dishes while ayame and akiko cleaned up the decorations and kanade and kenta helped with everything else.

as night approach, everyone was too tired to go back home so they all spent the night at kagome's and inuyasha's house.

miroku and sango slept in a guest room,kouga and ayame slpet in the rose garden in the backyard, seshoumaru and kagura slept in the other guest room rin,kanade,akiko and junichi slept in akiko's room, inuyasha and kagome slept in thier bedroom while kenta slept in the living room which he wanted to the fact it had a tv.

the next moring, inuyasha got up the earliest and went into the kitchen to brew up some coffee.he could see that the others went home already. he went to the bathroom and got ready for work. soon kagome came in and took a shower."good morning inuyasha." kagome yawned."morning."akiko came into the room with junichi and got in her parent's bed and pulled the covers over her."good morning akiko."said inuyasha with a mouthfull of toothpaste."moring daddy."she said sleepily."akiko do you want rin to come over?" asked kagome when she came out the shower.akiko shook her head and asked "can i go to shippo's and satsuki's house?" inuyasha nodded and kagome said "then you need to go and change."akiko groaned but inuyasha growled and she got up running.

as inuyasha got back stage there stood kikyo and naraku.

"what?" inuyasha asked coldly.

"we wanted to hear you perform."said kikyo "keh."inuyasha went over to yura and recieved his paycheck, he could see the others have to.

"come on kagome lets go and pick up akiko." inuyasha said.

kagome came running up to him and put an arm around his as they walked out of the studio.

kikyo watched them. thinking that it should be her to go and pick up thier daughter and it was supposed to be her to rap and arm around his.

kagome, he'll be mine oneway or another!

"did you have fun today?" asked kagome to akiko who was sitting in the back.

akiko nodded and handed her mother a painting "i painted that today,satsuki is going to buy a frame so i can frame it."

it showed a perfect portrait of her and her family. it showed akiko's face the closest while inuyasha,kagome,kanade,and kenta were in the background.

"its beautiful!" said kagome.she knew all of her kids were special in thier own way and akiko was special in an artist way.

as they got home,they saw junichi at the front porch in his wolf self and was growling at something. a saimiosho.

inuyasha opened the window for akiko and she jumped out. like she practiced she imitated her father "IRON REAPER SOUL STEALER!" the saimiosho was dead but what they didn't know was that there was a backup one and that one flew off.

"great work akiko."said inuyasha. "i learned from the best!"

they all went inside and akiko picked up junichi who was a little innocent puppy again.

"mommy, can we have hamburgers for dinner?" asked akiko.

"all right.inuyasha can you get them started?"asked kagome.

inuyasha nodded and started the stove.

kagome went upstairs to look for a cookbook. when she turned on the lights of the library, a figure was sitting in one of the chairs. kikyo.

"what are you..."she cut off when she felt someone pierce something to her back. it was harmlessand only made people asleep but it was still able to draw blood.

she fell to the ground with a thud. akiko heard the thud and peeked inside the library seeing her mother on the ground lifeless.

she boiled in hate and barked out "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!!" she ran up to her mother and tried to take the staff out off her back but she too was struck by one and before she dropped she screamed for her father to be able to hear "AAAAAAAAAHHAHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!"

inuyasha came running in and just in time to see akiko drop to the ground next to her mother. he stared wide eyed as he saw kikyo and naraku. there was a puddle of blood that leaked from his daughter's and mate's back.

his worst nightmare. to see his family struck and dead but they weren't dead. he could hear thier slow breathing and heart beats. they were asleep. thank goodness but the staff held poison. the poison gives the sleeper horrible nightmares and memories that was possible to kill you.

inuyasha tried to reach for his family but kikyo held a kantana to his neck and said "which do you choose inuyasha? do you wish to die with them or spare thier lifes and you die for them.or here's an easy one,come back to the feudal era and dedicate your heart to me and only me."

the thing was that naraku and kikyo weren't actually mates. they pretended to be to get revenge on inuyasha and when all seemed lost, kagome included them to come to her time which was completly stupid!

inuyasha pushed his way to his family and to make sure that he wasn't struck, he took the sword from kikyo and threw it out the window.

he tried to take the 2 staffs out but kikyo pointed one to his neck "which is it?"

he was about to surrender for his families sake but felt a tug, he looked down and saw that kagome and akiko were awake and alright."we're alright." kagome hoarsely whispered making sure that only he could hear.

now that he knew that his family was alright, he swiftly took the spear from kikyo and aimed it at her neck

he coldly warned "hurt my family and friends and you'll regret of having kagome ressurect your true self.she was kind to do that for you and now you tried to take her life when she gave back yours."

kikyo was actually frightened and backed away."you'll never get away with this."said kikyo to kagome who was struggling to get up.

she swiftly jumped out the window and her soul collecters(which are like her pets) carried her away while naraku dissapeared in a purple cloud.

inuyasha took the staffs out and tried to help kagome up and asked"you ok?" she looked at him with terror in her eyes. he could tell she had a nightmare "i was being chased by demons and you weren't there so i was running and i ......" she couldn't finish for the memory of it was burned in her head.akiko was awake to but was paralized by fear of her nightmare. her nightmare was that her parents were dyeing right infront of her.

they regained balance and decided to just sleep. when inuyasha was done cleaning the blood from the floor, he could still sense fear.

he wne to akiko's room which filled the room with the scent of fear and he reassured her "its all right.its over."

she nodded and tried to sleep.

his bedroom was filled with the scent as well.

he went to the bed and held kagome close to him "its ok its over."

he felt her nod and fell asleep. he stroked her hair and fell asleep as well.
