Ch.1 The Truth is revealed

 School was almost over and Asuna still couldn’t figure out what her parents were trying to tell her. All she knew was that they were acting weird and it was a little creepy.

*************Flashback******************

Asuna got ready for school and headed downstairs. “Good morning dear” Asuna’s mom, Mitsuki Suzuki, said while fixing her husband’s, Ryozaki Suzuki, briefcase. “Good morning mom” Asuna said. “There’s the birthday girl!” Ryozaki said as he came into the room. He gave Asuna the biggest of bear hugs that she couldn’t breath. She gasped out “Dad….can’t….breath!” “Sorry but I can’t believe that my baby girl is turning 15!” he said with a huge grin on his face. Asuna just sighed and then sat at the table. She ate a chocolate chip muffin and had a cup of coffee. Her mom sat by her and said “I can’t believe you’re going to be 15, but this is an important day because it marks the beginning of your new life.” Asuna gave her a confused look and her mom just smiled. “Everything will make sense very soon but be patient, okay” she said. Asuna said “Okay” and then got up. She said goodbye and then left for school.

Asuna sighed and decided to wait and see what happens next. The bell rang and it was time to leave. Everyone went up to her and wished her a happy birthday. She thanked everyone although all the attention was starting to annoy her because most of these people just wanted to seem popular by talking with her or they wanted a date. Asuna accepted all their gifts and then came Negi Kamura. He was the most popular guy in school and girls drooled over him. He came up to Asuna and said “Hey happy birthday!” He hugged her and every girl in the room was jealous. They wished they could be Asuna and Asuna wished she wasn’t herself right now. She moved away from him and said “Thanks a lot Negi.” She tried to mean it and managed to give him a sincere smile. He smiled too and then asked while rubbing the back of his head “Hey, do you think you would like to…um…go on a date with me over break?”  She tried to smile but it came out all awkward. He was looking at the floor while blushing and didn’t notice. She said “Thanks for the offer but I’m afraid that I can’t.” he looked up a little disappointed and then said “Okay, well if you are ever free...um…maybe we can go out then.” “Sure” was all she was able to say. He smiled and then left. Everyone looked at her like she had thrown away gold and it made her feel weird. She left and went home. When she got home, her parents were in the kitchen talking. “Hi, I’m home!” she said when she opened the door. “Hello honey how was your day?” both her parents said at the same time. This always gave Asuna a creepy feeling but she was getting used to it now.  “Fine I guess but anyway what are we going to do today?” Asuna said. Her parents gave her a grin and Asuna didn’t like this one bit. “Honey there is something that we have been dying to tell you and we think it is time you learned the truth” her dad said while directing her to the living room. Asuna was confused but did as she was told. They all sat down in the huge blue sofa and then her parents looked serious. Her dad was the one to speak first. “Honey I know it is your birthday but we cant have a party” he started. Asuna was going to complain but her dad continued. “We’re sorry but there is something more important that has to be done.” He looked at Mitsuki and she knew it was her turn to talk. “Honey, I know this will be hard to believe but you have to know the truth.” Asuna was starting to become impatient but decided to wait for them to get everything said for once. “Well there has been something we have been hiding form you and we think it was wrong” said Mitsuki. Then her dad started again “Asuna, well...um…we aren’t your real parents.” Asuna was shocked and he mouth hung open. Mitsuki closed Asuna’s mouth and said “We promised your real parents that we would take care of you until you were ready.” “Ready for what?” asked Asuna still in shock. “You’re a special girl and have a gift that needed to awaken before your journey began” said Ryozaki. “What journey and what gift” Asuna asked and was clearly getting irritated. Her parents tried to calm her down but nothing worked so they continued. “Your parents asked us to keep on eye on you because they were afraid that you might unstable but clearly that wasn’t the case, instead you didn’t even show any signs of having your gift until now” Mitsuki said with a small smile. Asuna just glared at her because she couldn’t believe that she could smile about something as big as this. “Did you notice that you attract a lot of people and you seem to be the only one that notices things like maybe a cell phone ringing during a concert or a huge party with loud music” asked her mom with a sly expression. Asuna thought about that for awhile and her mom was right. The last time that happened was a few weeks in Jazzy’s party. By the look on Asuna’s face, Mitsuki knew she was right so she continued “That is part of your gift.” Asuna looked at her still confused and then her dad spoke “Honey I know that this must be hard to take in but you have to understand that all this was for your own good.” Asuna looked at him with a questioning look and her dad sighed. “You have to go on a journey to find your sister and little brother, Kagome and Souta, and family.” Asuna said shocked “I have a sister and a little brother!” “Yes and you need to find her more importantly because you two need to be together in order to reach each other’s full potential” said both her parents. Asuna just started at them with a face full of shock. How could she go and leave her life to look for a family that abandoned her and she doesn’t even know who they are. “Who are they, I never met them, they never came for a visit, why should I look for them now and don’t tell me that it was for my own good or I have to in order to reach my full potential” Asuna started yelling and was getting angrier by the second. “Honey that is what you must find out because we can’t tell you anything else except for the importance of this, the name of your sister, and when you are to start your journey” said Mitsuki. Asuna was furious by this point but decided to calm herself down. She took a few deep breaths and then asked “When am I supposed to go?” “Today if possible” said her mom with a hint of sadness. Asuna sighed and got up. She said “What do I need to bring on the journey?” Her parents were surprised at her surrender but were glad that she had accepted her destiny. Her mom went up stair and came by fast before Asuna had anytime to leave the room. She had a small blue backpack in her hands and gave it to Asuna. She said with a grin on her face “It might look small but you will be surprised with all it can carry.” Asuna looked inside but it was empty and looked at her mother with a confused expression. Her mom smiled and said “You have to think of what you want and then it will appear and it can even be a lamp or desk but it will be difficult to take out well sort of.” Asuna’s eyes went wide and then looked at the bag like it was some sort of monster. She mom showed her how to use it and then Asuna relaxed a bit. “You will have to go alone but you will be guarded by someone” said her dad “But we aren’t allowed to tell you who is.” They said their good byes and Asuna left. She couldn’t believe this was happening to her especially considering today was her birthday! She sighed and wondered where she was supposed to go. She felt as if someone was watching her and figured that it was her guardian or something. She kept walking and then she felt something tug on her but nothing was there. She thought that this was a sign and walk towards the direction the invisible thing was pulling her to. She kept walking and said sourly “Happy Birthday Asuna.” Her guardian smiled at this and kept following her. He whispered “Happy Birthday” but he knew she wouldn’t hear him.

 Ch.2 The Walk And A Portal

Asuna kept going and didn’t fell the tugging anymore so she assumed that she was going in the right direction. She kept feeling eyes on her and she had to keep reminding herself that she was being guarded. She thought I wonder and then said “Hey whoever you are come out if you’re my guardian.” She was glad that no one was around because she knew she must look stupid right now. She heard laughter come from behind her but she couldn’t see who it was. She hated getting laughed at and scowled at the direction the laughter came from. She heard that whoever was laughing was trying to stop but failed. She yelled “Never mind” and stomped away. She was mad and tried to ignore whoever was following her. The guardian felt bad for laughing at her and decided to show himself. He said “Wait I am sorry, please don’t be mad.” This startled Asuna a bit and then she stopped. She turned around and saw that someone was coming towards her. He had red hair and the most beautiful green eyes she had ever seen. She just started at him and he just smiled. He bowed and said “It is a pleasure to finally meet you Asuna, my name is Kurama Konoe.” She blushed when he took her hand and kissed it. He saw this and smiled. She said “It is nice to meet you too Kurama” and smiled shyly. He turned her around so they could keep walking. He had to hold her by the waist because she couldn’t move. He didn’t mind and she just blushed when she finally came back to reality. She looked at the ground so he couldn’t see her blushing but it was too late. He let her go and she looked up. He smiled and then said “Well now that you know who I am, I must tell you that I am afraid that I can’t help you because you are to lead the way.” She sighed and said “I kinda that out when I wasn’t told where to go.” They walked in silence for a while but then Asuna got tugged at again. She turned right and Kurama followed her. He couldn’t think of anything to tell her because he couldn’t say anything to do with her past, family, or what is going to happen in the future. She looked at him and he looked like he was off in space. She didn’t know what to say because she didn’t know what would offend him or what she was allowed to say or know. The silence started to get awkward and Asuna couldn’t stand it anymore. She said “So where did you live before you came here with me?” He didn’t expect her to talk so he got scared. He composed his face and said “I am afraid that I can’t tell you that because it may reveal something.” “Of course” Asuna muttered and he smiled but he really was sad that he couldn’t tell her anything about where he came from because he loved his home and would love to share his knowledge.  She didn’t want to try again so she kept quiet. Kurama saw that she was getting annoyed and tried to ask her a question. “So what do you think so far about the truth that is?” he asked trying to sound with sincere curiosity. She looked up and said angrily “Well for starters I think that it sucks that they chose to tell me on my birthday and then there is the whole fact that everyone knew the truth but me!” He nodded and then said with a huge grin “Oh I forgot, I want to wish you a happy 15th birthday!” She smiled and thanked him. She felt this warm feeling and couldn’t help smiling. Then she continued “I guess that it is sort of cool because I’ve always wanted to have siblings but my so called parents didn’t want to have any other children.” He was happy to hear that it did have a positive affect on her and then said “Well I am able to tell you about your sister’s personality, do you want to know about how she is?” Asuna said with excitement “Yeah of course I do!” Kurama smiled and said “Well for starters, she is a kind person although you do not want to get her mad.” Asuna giggled and Kurama loved the sound of it because to him it was like wind chimes. When he recovered he continued “From what I have been told, she is like you in many ways.” Asuna smiled because she thought she was going to get along with her sister and they would probably get into some minor trouble. Then she stopped because she felt had a strange feeling and then the tugging began again. She turned left and Kurama followed her and he sensed that something was wrong. He looked at Asuna and she looked kind of scared. They arrived at an ally and then Asuna stepped forward but was stopped by Kurama. He said “Stay here and I will check it out.” She nodded and then he smiled. He kept going and he didn’t have a good feeling about this. Then all off a sudden, a portal appeared and arms started to come out of it. Asuna screamed and then all of the arms grabbed her. Kurama tried to take them off her but then he was trapped too. They were pulled into the portal and transported to a different time.

Ch. 3 The Feudal Era And The Encounter

Asuna had passed out after they had been transported and didn’t see Kurama fight the Centipede Mistress. She had wanted Asuna’s powers because it would be as powerful as the Sacred Jewel. Kurama killed her and then went to see if Asuna was okay. She was breathing but still unconscious. He picked her up and then started to walk. He was happy to be back home in the Feudal Era. He smiled because now he had to explain everything to Asuna. He looked at her sleeping face and smiled to have her in his arms. Since she was unconscious, he decided to transform into his half-demon self to make things go faster. He transformed and then ran to his hut. He turned back into his human self and waited until Asuna woke up. He saw her eyelids flutter and then she opened her eyes. He was relieved to know she was okay and rushed to her side. She sat up and looked around. She was surprised to see that she was in a hut and not in the ally. The ally she thought what happened to the ally and those arms, she shivered at the thought of all those arms grabbing her. She looked at Kurama and was happy to see that he was okay. He sat by her and asked “Are you okay, did you get hurt?” “Nope” said Asuna with a smile. He sighed with relief and then stood up. He got a cup of water and gave it to her. She thanked him and was surprised at how thirst she was. The shock must have gotten to her because she only gets real thirst if she is really scared, shocked or both and she was both. She looked around again and asked “Kurama, where are we?” He smiled and said “We’re at my house.” “Your house?” said Asuna and looked at him questionably.  “Yeah, I carried you here when we arrived” he said and Asuna asked “Arrived where exactly?” A huge grin spread across Kurama’s face and he said “In the Feudal Era of course!”  “WHAT!” Asuna yelled and Kurama had to cover his ears. He didn’t need to have demon hearing for her yelling to hurt his ears. He tried to calm her down but gave up because there was no way she was going to get calm. Asuna had had enough, first her family isn’t her real family, then she meets Kurama, some freaky arms take her somewhere, and now this. She sighed angrily and looked at Kurama with a scowl on her face. He smiled nervously and tried to think of a way to explain it all without her freaking out again. He took a deep breath and said “Asuna, this is where I am from and part of who you are.” He waited to see what her reaction was and she looked confused. He smiled and said “You have two souls in you, one is your own and the other one is from another person named Asuna from 50 years in the past from today.” Asuna couldn’t believe what she was hearing and she was upset that all of this was happening on her birthday. She scowled and Kurama felt a bit worried. He then sensed a demon coming their way and said seriously “I’m sorry that this is all happening to you but now is not the time for talking.” He helped her up and she looked a bit worried. He smiled and said “Don’t worry nothing is wrong, we just need to keep going if we want to find your sister.” She had forgotten about that and nodded. They left the hut and they kept walking although Kurama was trying to go a bit faster. Asuna thought he must really want to help her find her sister and tried to keep up. They had walked a lot and Asuna was tired. The demon had gone away so Kurama decided to slow down. He looked at Asuna and she looked exhausted. He stopped but she kept going because she was lost in her thoughts. She sighed and then noticed that Kurama wasn’t at her side but before she could stop and look for him, she was scoped up onto Kurama’s back. She was about to protest when he said “Don’t worry about it, it is my pleasure to assist you.” He smiled at her and she blushed. She decided to let it go because no one she knew would see her. She sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. He blushed but smiled. They kept going and then Asuna sensed something weird. She told Kurama about it and he knew what it was. He went faster and Asuna hold to hold on tight because she didn’t want to fall. They arrived at a well and there was someone coming out of it. Asuna got of Kurama’s back but didn’t get any closer to the well. A girl with black hair and wearing a school uniform, like Asuna’s but green instead of blue, stepped out of the well. Asuna was shocked to know that someone else from the future was here. She went up to the well and then the girl spoke. “Hi, who are you, how did you get here and where did the shrine go?” “My name is Asuna Suzuki and I didn’t see any shrine, did you Kurama?” Asuna said. Kurama just shook his head and tried to hold back a smile. The girl said “I’m Kagome Higurashi and I just fell down my family’s well and don’t know which way my house is.” Asuna gasped and couldn’t believe that she had found her sister but her mom didn’t tell her what her sister’s last name was. She turned to Kurama and he nodded. She gasped again and then looked at Kagome.
