Author's Response: Even InuYasha realizes that it could happen again if they didn't, and neither of them ever want anything like that to happen to her again. He'll agree to anything within reason to keep her safe.

I always thought during the anime that her friends were too nosy, too talkative, and way too annoying. It make me wonder pre-anime, if Kagome was exactly like that or just tuned it out.
Author's Response: Me, too! But then I remembered they are just 15 year old junior high girls. Chances are Kagome fit right in with them until she fell in the well. Then her perspectives on life were changed more than just a little.

It is good that Sesshoumaru came to the scene considering his affinity to impartialness.
Author's Response: I saw Sesshomaru's potential early on, first when he saved Rin, then when he brought down InuYasha after his youkai blood had taken over and told Kagome to give Tessaiga back to him so he'd change back. I also thought he had a sense of honor, and wouldn't just leave them to die. He just didn't have any idea of how much his life would change simply because he did the right thing.
