I am not surprised that Kagome could get InuYasha back under control. At least the fight was not long and Kagome has the shard to complete the jewel.

Fortunately, she's not afraid of him and he recognizes her no matter what. And as we know, nothing really has much of a chance against InuYasha when his youkai takes over.
And Kagome has finally completed the jewel - now all she has to do is figure out what to do with it.
